Painting From Your Heart:
An Abstract Painting Workshop taught by Cynthia Brown
ABOUT
An exploration of mark making and abstract painting. This will be a class for you to let go of judgement and fear and dive in to explore and connect with your intuition.
I will incorporate a bit of simple yoga and meditation exercises that require no yoga mat or special clothing to help us get centered and to connect to our hearts, our authentic selves.
The class will begin with a some loosening up exercises with a variety of painting/mark-making tools.
I will do a demonstration each day.
There will be unstructured time for you to work on the pieces you began in the morning and I will spend one-on-one time with each artist that wants it.
Music will be an integral part of the class to help us flow!

Workshops I have Attended Recently
Throughout the years, I've been fortunate to have had an array of good instructors, providing me with great advice and amazing support. Continuing one's growth as an artist is a lifelong process and embedded within that journey is one's personal development as a person. Painting is challenging mentally, spiritually and physically.
i've been practicing yoga almost as long as I've been creating art and for me it's one of the keys that helps keep me connected to myself and my work. I constantly strive to grow and develop new techniques. Below are a images from a recent workshop I attended in 2015, and a residency in 2014.

DOING THE WORK OF YOUR LIFE: MOVING BEYOND FEAR
These are a few images from a workshop I completed in August 2015, in Maine.
The workshop brought together the talents of three amazing women who led us through a four day holistic workshop of exercises in painting and centering the self to deepen our connection to our work. It was a wonderful experience that left me with a renewed sense of creative purpose and passion.
Challenging and yet restorative, it completely reinforced my belief in the necessity for us as artists to continue to explore our approach to our work; precisely the approach I want to instill in artists who attend my classes.
